Community Planning, Forums and Networks

  • Community Planning is the name given to the partnership working which takes place in a local authority area to benefit local communities and citizens. It mostly consists of public sector agencies with third sector representation. Here in Fife, Community Planning is well established and is led by the Fife Partnership which has a Board and an Executive Group as well as a range of partnerships and groups.

The links down the right hand side of this page will take you directly to key sections on our website about community planning, networks, forums and other partnerships.

FVA, in our capacity as the third sector interface for the Fife Council area, represents the interests of the third sector within community planning. We also facilitate, support and contribute to a range of forums, networks and partnerships in order to share with, learn from and support third sector organisations operating within Fife.

One of the key mechanisms for connecting the wider third sector with what is happening within Community Planning is Fife's Third Sector Strategy Group and our other forums. You can read more about them by using the links on the right hand side of this page.

This section will be updated regularly as meetings take place, papers are produced and plans developed. If you can't find the information that you're looking for in this section of our website then please get in touch with us.

    Local Community Planning
Fife-wide community planning is now well-established. Local community planning, across the 7 localities as defined by Fife Council, is more recent but is developing at quite a pace. This year saw 7 local community plans published which set out priorities for localities, supporting by community planning partners in each local area.

The 7 area structure is being increasingly adopted for public service planning and delivery, with Housing Area Forums and Health and Social Care Integration recently adopting this model too.
