This course has been designed for frontline staff who require an understanding of the nature of poverty and changes to the welfare system and how they will affect people in Fife. The training should help staff provide initial advice and referral to specialist support services
Learner Outcomes
By the end of this course participants will have:
- An overview of the managed transfer to tax credits claimants to Universal Credit
- Awareness of the latest devolved benefits
- Information on how people can qualify for additional cost of living payment
- How they can access other specialist support services.
Who should attend?
Anyone working directly with low income households in health, education, childcare, social work and voluntary sector, who can play a part in promoting take-up and maximising income. No existing skills or previous training required. Participants who have attending “Supporting Low Income Households Manage Benefit Change” will find this helpful as a refresher and update.
