    Post: Welfare Service Case Worker 

    Hours: Part-time, Monday to Friday, weekend availability

    Contract: This post is funded by the National Lottery for three years

    Salary: £24,788 based on a 35 hour week and pro rata for part-time 

    Location: Kirkcaldy, KY1 2YX. Must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

    Key responsibilities

    • Plan and manage a discrete caseload allocated by the area coordinator, providing information, advice and support to those individuals seeking to access welfare support services
    • Meet with the individual to carry out 1-2-1 holistic assessments to gain an understanding of the challenges faced by the individual or their family and agree a plan of action to support them
    • Develop case plans identifying the next steps needed to support the individual, referring people to a range of partner agencies where appropriate
    • Close cases effectively and efficiently, identifying and implementing individual action plans, attending advice appointments, coordinating language support, and providing assistance that includes external support agencies

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership competence, including integrity, self-discipline, communication and interpersonal skills, trustworthiness, teamwork, conflict management, problem solving, sound judgement, initiative, decision making, excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to move quickly and easily from planning to implementation. It is desirable that you have a driving licence with access to a car.
