  • Mental Health Forum Round Up - December 2023

    Created: 14/12/2023
News/Events Category: Partnerships, Networks and Forums

At December's Mental Health Forum, we had a networking session to update each other on ongoing work in mental health across Fife and enjoyed a cuppa and mince pie. .

Our first speaker was Clare Rogers, Participation and Engagement Officer at Fife Health and Social Care Partnership. Clare updated us all on the Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy and Delivery plan. There has been excellent engagement in the consultation so far, with a mixture of the online and paper questionnaire, face to face focus groups, 1-2-1 interviews, pop-up table discussions, and staff discussions.

Over 800 people have engaged with the consultation so far from a range of backgrounds like unpaid carers, support groups, residents, lived experience volunteers and much more.

You can click here to find out how to take part and link through to the questionnaire.

The consultation closes on Sunday 31 December 2023.

Lea Cooper, Peer Support Network Coordinator and Lived Experience Team Facilitator at FVA, talked about the ongoing work on the Mental Health and Wellbeing in Primary Care and Community Settings co-production. The period of engagement has been extended as the group wish to get more detailed feedback.

Forum attendees then broke out into two discussion groups to talk about two subjects key to the co-production - 1) What are the causes of mental health issues? 2) What motivates people to access support and what barriers do they face?
