Carers' Providers Forum Round-up - March 2024
Created: 05/03/2024On Tuesday 05 March 2024, we kicked off our brand-new Carers' Providers Forum. The forum aims to provide an impartial and safe platform for carers' providers to actively participate, discuss ideas, share information, problem-solve, and network with peers.
Developed in conjunction with Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, the forum provides a centralised platform that can foster collaboration, objectivity, and resource-sharing amongst vital carer service organisations.
Hosted by Kenny Murphy, Chief Executive Officer at FVA, we reviewed the terms of reference for the forum, communicated key plans and projects across the sector, and ran breakout groups to understand priorities and how we can accomplish them through the forum.
Lucy Sayer, Contracts Officer at Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, gave us an overview of how the forum came to be formed. Following 11 engagement sessions evaluating increased funding and support to carers, it became clear that more coordination, support and information was needed.
James Wotherspoon, Participation and Engagement Officer at Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, discussed the strategy behind the forum, and how, in collaboration with the upcoming Carers' Forum, we will escalate to committees such as the Carers Strategy Group to communicate needs and changes.
Sandra Morris, Manager of Fife Carers Centre, gave a summary of the upcoming Carers' Forum and how it will collaborate with the Carers' Providers Forum, highlighting the importance of representing carers' voices and ensuring that they're heard.
There were a lot of brilliant ideas from the forum, and we will be in touch soon with plans for the second meeting.
