SDS Options is looking for personal assistant to help a 14-year-old female who requires a companion to do activities with. Their client has global development delay and is a wheelchair user. She has the ability to walk with support on short distances so will need your arm or hand. When transferring only needs assistance with lifting legs into the car for example. She enjoys swimming, bowling and time away from her parents. Initially support will be in the house to build a relationship and then on outings when she feels comfortable. She is incontinent and uses a peg at times for feeding so your skill base in these areas would be preferred.
Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
Duties & Responsibilities
About you
Due to the personal care elements of this role, an Occupational Requirement for a female applies. This is permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010.
Peg training and experience is preferred. You must be a member of the PVG membership scheme or have a willingness to have a PVG check undertaken.
