It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

The World Health Organisation stated that 20% of women and 5% of men are sexually abused as children. Only a small percentage of sexual crimes against children are ever detected, recorded, or prosecuted. Most perpetrators do not admit their actions, and many survivors do not wish to disclose their experiences.

Adults who disclose historic childhood sexual abuse should be able to do so in confidence and be provided with the help and support that they need. The adult may require help and support from professionals. It is important that practitioners feel equipped to respond to a disclosure from a survivor in a manner they deserve and know where to signpost to.

    About the training

Join experienced staff from KASP for this multi-agency training opportunity which offers an increased understanding around the complexities of disclosure and, how those affected may react or respond during disclosure. By the end of the training, the aims are that you will have:

    • A better understanding of the impact of childhood sexual abuse
    • A deeper understanding of effects on survivors
    • More confidence in your skills to respond to disclosure
    • Knowledge of specialist services

This seminar is suitable for anyone who may provide support to a client and who is an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse.
