It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.This session will highlight the main forthcoming changes to Disclosure and PVG processes in Scotland. Duncan Steel, Compliance Officer at Volunteer Scotland/Disclosure Services, will go over the main changes to disclosures and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about how this will impact you and the services being provided. We will also cover how you can feed into the current consultation regarding the fee waiver for volunteers.
The Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020 aims to focus on protecting the public, while balancing the need for people to move on from offending and simplify the process for disclosing criminal history information.
The Act became law in July 2020, Disclosure Scotland will make the changes required by the Act from 01 April 2025. Implementation of the act will lead to changes around who requires a PVG, when you should PVG check, the definitions of vulnerable groups, and what information will be made available to you.
