  • Social Security Scotland - Transferring Carer's Allowance to Care Support Payment

    Created: 05/04/2024
    News/Events Category: Employability
This item will show under the following categories: Health and Social Care

The transfer of awards from the Department for Work and Pensions Carer's Allowance to Social Security Scotland's Carer Support Payment started in April 2024. It will be rolled out across Scotland until 2025.

People do not need to do anything as their award will transfer automatically. The amount they receive will not change. Both Social Security Scotland and the Department for Work and Pensions will write to people in advance to let them know that their award will be transferring.

Please share with your networks that carers should continue to report any changes in their circumstances to the Department for Work and Pensions until they receive a letter from SSS telling them their award has transferred.

See Social Security Scotland's website for more information.
