  • Digital Skills Courses

    In response to the increasing numbers of jobseekers struggling with the digital literacy skills needed to comply with DWP’s ‘Digital by Default’ policy, Community Learning and Development in Fife Council have developed a Digital Skills course in partnership with Fife College. The course is being offered at 2 levels and targets those with no or very basic IT skills.

    The target is to offer 1500 places between January and June 2014. It will be a challenge to reach this number of people and CLD are looking to work with partners to promote the courses available in the knowledge that action to minimise the number of sanctions being applied to JSA claimants and the extent to which families fall prey to payday loans is a priority for the Council and voluntary sector alike. The target group is benefit claimants who are affected by welfare reform.
