It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

Young Carers multi-agency CPD twilight session for practitioners across services in the Dunfermline Area.

Young Carers are children and young people who look after someone in their family who has an illness, a disability, or is affected by mental ill-health or substance misuse.

Young Carers often take on practical and emotional caring responsibilities that would normally be expected of an adult. It is estimated that 10% of pupils aged 8-18 in the Dunfermline area are Young Carers. This CPD twilight session will help to raise the awareness of the issues Young Carers face and the ways that all Children's Services can make a positive impact on their lives.

In addition the session will help to raise awareness of:

    • ways to identify a Young Carer and assess support needs
    • how to share and record information on individual Young Carers
    • the range of ways that professionals can help and support Young Carers in school, at home and in the community
    • the role of a Young Carers' Champion
    • transition from Children's to Adult's Services
