    Created: 02/04/2014
    News/Events Category: Community Events

    When: 1.30pm - 3.30pm, Thursday 24 April 2014
Where: Parkgate Learning Centre, Parkgate, Rosyth
This event is being organised by WEA Scotland (Fife)

It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

This course will cover a number of themes around transportation methods and purposes and will run for a period of 8 weeks. From first settlers up to the construction of the Forth Road Bridge 50 years ago. We will be looking at trading routes, on sea and land, and developments from using animals for transport to wheeled vehicles, the introduction of steam and motorised vehicles (including the extensive tram system which existed in Fife).

We will discover how the economy, leisure, military demands and even acts of parliament led to progress. Participants will have the opportunity to do their own research and encouraged to bring their local knowledge to the group. With support of Fife Council this course is offered free of charge.
