Carers Support Worker (Equalities) - Fife Carers Centre

Fife Carers Centre provides help and support to unpaid carers of people with all types of illness and disabilities throughout Fife and are currently seeking an additional team member.
The post is for a Part-time (25 hours a week) Carers Support Worker who will have a specific focus on Carers from hard to reach groups. This post is funded for one year by the Carer Information Strategy funding and the salary is equivalent to SJC 27 - 30 (£23,697 - £26,235 pro rata). The post is Kirkcaldy based but the successful applicant will have a driving licence and vehicle to enable them to travel throughout Fife.
The role is wide ranging and varied and the Carer Support Worker will be providing a sensitive, person centred support service for carers throughout Fife, via telephone contact, visits to the Carers Centre and outreach work. The Carer Support worker will develop the work of the Carers Centre amongst carers who experience additional disadvantage as a result of their own physical or mental health issues, disabilities or conditions and carers from BME communities, by building up networks and good working relationships with other agency representatives. They will assist carers in presenting their views to the appropriate authorities and decision makers.
