    Fife Council and Citizens Advice & Rights Fife (CARF) have launched a Survival Guide on benefit Sanctions for people receiving Job Seekers Allowance.

    The guide outlines:

    • Who can be sanctioned and for what;
    • What has changed since the new “Claimant Commitment” was rolled out earlier this year;
    • How to avoid sanctions;
    • How you will know if you have a been sanctioned and how long this will last;
    • What will happen to other benefits;
    • How to make a complaint or appeal; and
    • Information on hardship payments, short-term advances in benefits, The Scottish Welfare Fund, Community Care Grants and Foodbanks.
