Press Release for Carers
Created: 14/08/2014£18,000 available to Fife’s unpaid Carers this August and September.
The Creative Breaks Fund still has £18,000 to award to Fife’s Unpaid Carers before the end of September 2014.
Applications are urgently sought from Carers who would benefit from a “break” from their caring responsibilities, either with or without their cared for person.
Carers can decide themselves what would provide that “break”; be it the technology to help them keep in touch with relatives and friends; driving lessons to support them getting out and about or a straight forward holiday somewhere special, the gift of being able to enjoy a change of scenery with their cared for person, whatever the Carer envisages would work for them.
Fife Voluntary Action, in partnership with Fife Carers Centre, Crossroads and Fife Young Carers receives Scottish Government money, to provide funding to carers who look after persons 20+ to enable them to take a “short break” from their caring responsibilities.
The purpose of the Fund is to value Carers’ contributions and their wellbeing by awarding them the choice of how to design the perfect respite that suits them.
Individual applications for up to £500 are sought. To apply just complete the application form on the Fife Voluntary Action Website: http://www.fva.org or contact us directly on 08456 006 046 to request an application form.
