    As partner of GO ON UK leading retailer Argos has pledged to provide practical skills, access and technology to some of the 9.5 million Brits who are still not online.

    From Saturday 25 October until mid-January 2015, Argos aims to help up to 10,000 UK adults who lack digital skills by providing them with a 90 minute workshop in participating stores.

    The workshop costs £20 but on completion attendees receive a free tablet and a voucher redeemable for free broadband with TalkTalk for one year (optional)*.

    The two participating stores in Fife are Cupar and Kirkcaldy.

    Specially-trained store colleagues will help participants learn the basics of how to:

    • Use a tablet;
    • Get online and access at least one website;
    • Create an e-mail account;
    • Understand how to use apps;
    • Know how to stay safe online;
    • Know where to go for further local support.

    To apply:

    Anyone who feels that they do not yet have the above skills can sign up by calling 0345 600 4408 or visit their nearest Argos store for more information.

    *Tablet: Proscan 7” dual core internet tablet, 8GB.

    *TalkTalk SimplyBroadband for 12 months (usually £3.50 pmth), free installation and router. Customers still required to pay line rental at £15.95 a month.
