    Fife Council have been successful in gaining funding for 9.5 welfare reform assistant posts and a volunteer coordinator from the Scottish Government Building Resilience Fund and Area Welfare Reform Action Plans. All the staff are in their posts across Fife and have just completed an extensive induction programme.

    The welfare assistants will work to improve the advice and support available at local community venues and refer people onto specialised services while the volunteer coordinator will establish a volunteer programme targeting those who are unemployed and could improve their chances of gaining a job through the programme. The funding is initially for 12 months.
