    News/Events Category: Community Events

    When: 10.30am to 12 noon, Saturday 04 April 2015
Where: Earthship Fife Visitor Centre, Kinghorn Loch, KY3 9YG
This event is being organised by Sustainable Communities Initiatives

It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

Are you on the look out for a new crafting project, then come along to the Earthship and learn to rag rug with Morag Platt. Equipment and materials will be provided.

The craft used to be common in mining, rural and fishing communities in Fife. To save money, every scrap of fabric had to be reused in some way, but the craft started to die out when people could afford to buy rugs and carpets, and rag rugs then became associated with poverty. However, there has been a revival of interest in recent years because of its use of recycled materials to make attractive and colourful objects such as rugs, wallhangings, bags and cushion covers.

Please note that all children should be accompanied by an adult.

To book a place or for further information please contact Louise on 01592 891884 or e-mail [email protected]
