It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.This is a two day course being held on Wednesday and Thursday 28 and 29 October 2015 - participants must attend both days.
Many people think that the person they support or care for can see perfectly well, this is sometimes not the case. If the person has difficulties with communication and understanding then sight loss can be 'hidden'.
Research has demonstrated that early detection of sight loss, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation positively influences independent living skills, communication and social skills.
Vision Champion Training is delivered over two days and will equip champions with the knowledge, skills and tools they need to embed sight loss as a priority in practice.
Vision Champion Training provides:
- a flexible toolkit to identify potential sight loss;
- an understanding of the impact of sight loss;
- information to create vision friendly environments;
- tools to review current vision information and support in existing care plans;
- a Vision Passport to enhance both current and future care, promoting independence;
- Vision outcomes which will support personal plans and Self Directed Support (SDS) budgets.
Who should attend:
Delegates must have attended the half-day Sight Loss and Learning Disability Awareness training to be eligible for this training.
