It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.This training will raise awareness of and provide skills to identify sight loss in a population where this is often overlooked. Key participants from this training could potentially be selected to become 'Vision Champions' and key players in establishing and sustaining the Learning Disability Eye Care Pathway.
Course Aims:
To help participants to understand the impact, sight loss on the daily life of someone with a learning disability and provide essential information and skills.
Learning Outcomes - by the end of the course participants will know:
- how to recognise behaviours that may indicate sight loss;
- what eye conditions most commonly affect people with a learning disability;
- practical tips for adapting an individual's environment to promote their independence and minimise risk;
- how to adapt your wider service to best meet people's needs.
Who should attend:
Anyone working within the field of learning disability. This course is relevant to all age groups.
Accreditation Award:
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
