Citizen Advocacy Training - Equal Voice

News/Events Category: General NewsAre you interested in finding out more about citizen advocacy, gaining skills and knowledge and engaging with vulnerable adults?
Equal Voice in Central Fife are running free 2 day training in September/October, either in the afternoon or evening (depending on which is most popular) on Citizen Advocacy. This training will be held in the Levenmouth area, venue to be confirmed.
Come along and find out what this involves and if progressing towards becoming a voluntary Citizen Advocate is for you (there is no obligation).
You can expect to gain new skills and learning in:
- Principles of citizen advocacy;
- Active listening skills;
- Negotiating skills;
- An insight into the life of a vulnerable adult;
- How to advocate and negotiate on someone's behalf, representing their views and wishes, not your own;
- How to engage with services and professionals involved with vulnerable adults;
- How to investigate community and educational opportunities;
- How you can make a difference in someone's life.
All participants will be provided with a certificate 'Preparation Course in Citizen Advocacy'.
