This 2 day course covers the signs and symptoms of the more common mental illnesses of depression, anxiety and psychosis and how to respond when people are in crisis. The course equips staff with the skills to respond to people who are feeling suicidal. The course also considers common themes of recovery, attitudes towards mental illness, the effects of substance misuse on mental health, Scottish Mental Health legislation and self harm.
This course is co-facilitated by people with lived experience of having a mental illness.
On completion of both days, participants will receive a certificate from NHS Health Scotland.
Feedback suggests this is an intensive, but enjoyable course.
Please bring your own lunch.
