It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

This course is aimed at housing, education, NHS, CLD, social work and third sector staff who are working with victims, perpetrators or children affected by gender-based viol ence.

The session is based around the "Preventing Gender Based Violence" resource which can be downloaded from FISH/Fife Direct.

    Learning Outcomes:
    • Understand the dynamics and consequences of gender based violence and how this may manifest.
    • Understand the impact of gender based violence on children and young people's ability to develop healthy, safe relationships.
    • Build confidence among staff in their capacity to address emotive issues in a safe and effective manner
    • Raise awareness of the "Preventing Gender Based Violence" resource and how this can be used to support staff

The "Preventing Gender Based Violence" resource will be used as a stimulus to explore and develop a fuller understanding of the dynamics of gender based violence and how this cross cutting issue impacts negatively on the health and wellbeing of our children and young people.

It will equip staff with the background knowledge to confidently address sensitive issues and give practitioners the tools to discuss emotive issues safely, whilst highlighting avenues for additional information and support. The resource is fully linked with CfE, covers Early to Fourth levels and addresses Health and Wellbeing experiences and outcomes.
