Female Genital Mutilation is an abuse of human rights and is a child protection issue. There is a need for us all to become more aware of FGM which is widespread in a number of communities in Scotland.
Learning Outcomes:
To understand the practice and consequences of female genital mutilation/female circumcision.
To better understand the prevalence, reasons and justifications for this practicee.
To develop an understanding of how to identify those at potential risk of FGM.
To be able to access appropriate support and information for clients and professionals.
To gain an understanding of the legal issues around FGM.
The seminar will be facilitated by Fife Domestic and Sexual abuse Partnership and NHS Fife.
