Communication is a complex skill and one that is important to master, especially if we have to deliver important messages or tell someone something they may not want to hear. This training will help participants to develop techniques and behaviours to deliver complex or difficult messages with confidence.
Course Aims:
To help participants develop confidence in their communication with others, particularly when they think the message may be unwelcome.
Learning Outcomes/What you will learn:
Describe win-win behaviour and its benefits in communication;
Develop ways to manage anxiety in preparation for a ‘difficult’ conversation;
Apply increasing levels of assertiveness in communicating with others (including giving feedback);
Recognise non-verbal signals in self and others, and adopt confident posture;
Plan how to deal with a conflict.
Who should Attend:
Anyone who wishes to develop their communication skills, especially when holding ‘difficult’ conversations.
Course Accreditation/Award:
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
Trainer biography
Jo Fielding is a learning and development professional with more than 25 years experience in the public, private and third sectors. In 2013 she left her role as Learning and Development Manager at Bield Housing and Care and now delivers training independently, mainly for organisations in the voluntary sector. Jo also offers coaching, and can provide tailored support to organisations wishing to develop their effectiveness through training or recruitment.
