It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.Have you ever encountered the 'oh no, I can’t do that because of data protection'? Perhaps it was justified but perhaps it was just someone’s fear of doing something wrong when they weren’t that sure.
The aim of this workshop is to dispel many of the myths surrounding data protection and to raise awareness of what data protection is really all about. The workshop seeks to explore data protection issues through interactive presentation and group work, encouraging you to ask questions and share experiences in a friendly, informal setting.
Course Aims
- An introduction to the ICO and how data protection differs from freedom of information;
- Myths of data protection;
- Personal data - rights and obligations;
- Security, security, security;
- Sharing personal data safely;
- Getting your policies right;
- How can it all go wrong?
