Fife Service – Support Worker
Salary: £14,719 pro rata
Contract: 12 hours per week, 9.30-3.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays
Alzheimer Scotland are looking for a dynamic Support Worker to join their Day Opportunities Group, a community based group for younger people who have dementia. The Group meet each Tuesday and Thursday to enjoy a variety of outings, sports and cultural activities under the supervision of the Day Opportunities Organiser.
They require a unique person who can support people who have dementia, in a variety of environments, personalised to each individual’s needs.
The support workers are their most important people as they provide front line support. Their support workers help people who have dementia to maintain skills and independence through provision of meaningful activities and the opportunity to socialise.
Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. It is essential that you have a full driving licence and use of a car, as you will be required to provide transport to group members. You will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude.
A willingness to learn and participate in training (including SVQ’s) is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.
