This workshop is an introduction to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children and young people. It will highlight the main features of the disorder and ways in which it affects children and families in their daily lives. The workshop aims to increase awareness of ASD in children and young people, and build confidence and competence when working with children with ASD and their families. Strategies used to support children with ASD will also be considered.
