The SURF Awards for Best Practice in Regeneration are awarded to projects and initiatives that demonstrate real impact in tackling social and economic problems in disadvantaged places. At this free workshop, they bring together two SURF Award winning projects from 2015, alongside a contribution from our colleagues at Highlands and Islands Enterprise, to explore transferrable lessons on the theme of Community Led Regeneration and Infrastructure.
The two projects featured- Helmsdale Affordable Housing programme and Ullapool Harbour Trust- indicate the scale that Community Led Regeneration now operates at. Guests at this free workshop will hear from the community group leaders that successfully delivered these housing and transport infrastructure initiatives as well as finding out more about their background, development and funding. Their colleagues from Highlands and Islands Enterprise, who are managing the Scottish Land Fund now open to community groups across the country, will also be sharing information on their support for Community Led Regeneration.
