When: 10.00am to 2.00pm, Tuesday 31 May 2016 Where: Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, KY7 5NX This event is being organised by Fife Communities Climate Action Network
It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.
Please come along to share ideas and information and learn about the work of others that will help communities to engage in climate change. Following a series of speakers, there will be time to discuss community based actions, finishing with a networking lunch.
Speakers and topics on the day include:
Carolyn Bell, Technical Officer, Resource Efficient Solutions, Climate change and Zero waste. Carolyn will introduce the Fife Environmental Partnership, its members, and their timetable for developing the Sustainable Energy Climate Action Plan for Fife, commenting on how it fits into the current Climate Change Strategy, and indicating the opportunities for communities to engage along the process.
Elizabeth Leighton, Co-author of and also Chair of Scotland's Climate Challenge Fund Grants panel. This report explores how community groups could work better with local authorities to tackle climate change.
Ruth Wolstenholme, Adaptation Scotland and Managing Director of Sniffer. Adaptation Scotland provides advice to communities via its Climate Ready Communities work to help ensure that Scotland is prepared for, and resilient to, the impacts of climate change.
They hope you can make the event. Part of the Fife Communities Climate Action Network's aim is to raise awareness and promote practical community-led action to make Fife communities more sustainable through creating opportunities for partnership working and work to tackle the barriers and challenges that community groups taking action on climate change face.
