  • Comic Relief Refreshed Grants Strategy- Launch Initiatives Now Open to Applications

    Created: 24/05/2016
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

Comic Relief are currently inviting applications from community based organisations supporting women and families experiencing Maternal Mental Health issues. The application process is now open, with grants of up to £120,000 available for 2-3 years.

The deadline for applications is 12 o'clock on 15 June 2016. Further details can be found by visiting their website.

A ‘Girls in Gangs’ initiative is also open to applications across the UK. Research and evidence shows that gang-involved girls and young women navigate a range of harmful environments which can expose them to high levels of sexual exploitation and increased criminal activity. Proposals are welcome for up to £150,000 for 18 months of activity, with the potential for a further £150,000 for a subsequent 18 months period.

Applications are now open and further details are available by clicking here. The deadline for applications is 12 o'clock on 13 July 2016.

Comic Relief’s commitment to Sport for Change continues with the Sport in Communities Initiative. Comic Relief expects to make between 15 and 30 grants across the UK and they’re inviting proposals for work in several of the UK’s most deprived areas (these include Glasgow and North Lanarkshire). Proposals are welcome for grants between £40,000 and £75,000 for up to two years of activity. The programme is open for applications now and the deadline for applications is 12 o'clock on 11 July 2016. Further details are available here.

In mid-June a ‘Core Strength’ fund will open, designed for small to medium organisations across the UK. Funding of up to £40,000 over two years will be available to locally significant organisations with turnovers of between £100,000 and £500,000, working in their theme areas which include: Children and Young People, Women and Girls, Health and Wellbeing and Strengthening Communities. The funding is intended to support core running costs and work to increase the capacity and stability of organisations. Further information will be available on the grants pages of the Comic Relief website shortly.

Details of the new strategy can be found on the Comic Relief website by clicking here and information about launch initiatives can be found by visiting their website.
