Post: Self Help Coach
Fixed-Term until 31 March 2017
LinkLiving's Self Help Coaches use evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to support people aged 16-64 who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues such as anxiety, stress, low mood, lack of motivation and depression.
You will provide a programme of one-to-one CBT based support for carers of children, young people and adults with autism spectrum condition. You will also provide awareness raising workshops to raise awareness of the stress which carers can experience, share methods of managing stress and signpost carers affected by stress to appropriate sources of support.
This post is subject to Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme registration, the successful applicant will cover the cost of this.
The closing date for applications is Wednesday 29 June 2016 and interviews will be held on Thursday 07 July 2016 at West Bridge Mill, Bridge St, Kirkcaldy, KY1 1TE.
Established in partnership with NHS Fife, LinkLiving's Self Help Coaches are experienced and trained practitioners who are supervised by a clinical psychologist.
What you will need:
Diploma level (or equivalent) with experience of approaches to self help techniques and/or CBT approach
Knowledge of issues affecting people who are excluded and marginalised
Demonstrable experience of using a person centred approach
A knowledge of mental health self help resources and a commitment to their use
Empathy and active listening skills
