Would you like to assist vulnerable adults to live an independent life? Due to a recent expansion, Kingdom Housing Association are recruiting for Support Workers in the Falkirk Area. They provide a 24 hour service to supported individuals with autism and challenging behaviour. They are looking for people with a positive person centred approach who are passionate about helping people have a fulfilling life.
This post will require someone who is able to support people to develop new skills and attend activities they enjoy doing. Examples include walking, swimming, going to the cinema, bowling and gardening. This service will require you to be trained in CALM theory and physical intervention techniques, if you have not had any training this will be provided to you. This service involves shift work including sleepovers and would require you to be flexible with your working hours. Previous experience of providing care (not necessarily in a work setting) is desirable. We will provide you with training towards an SVQ in Social Care unless already obtained.
In return for the above they offer an attractive benefits package including a contributory pension scheme, 37 days paid annual leave and an additional payment for sleepovers. You will be placed at the unqualified rate unless you have achieved the relevant qualification as determined by the Scottish Social Services Council. You need to be registered as a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme for the purpose of regulated work with protected adults. The cost of membership (whether a new or existing member) is borne by you. If you are not already a member the cost will be £59, for existing members this will be £18.
The closing date for applications is Sunday 31 July 2016.
