  • Social Enterprise Growth and Innovation (SEGI) Fund in Fife

    Created: 09/07/2014
    News/Events Category: Social Enterprise

    BRAG Enterprises is pleased to announce a new fund that will encourage the growth of existing and new start social enterprises across Fife. The fund is easy to access and will support organisations to overcome some of the barriers faced during start up or during growth.

    What can I use the funding for?

    The fund must be used for capital expenditure. In order to be eligible to apply your must demonstrate the following:

    • You are a social enterprise or are in the process of establishing a social enterprise in Fife;
    • The grant will be used for capital costs (i.e. equipment that will enable you to begin trading or grow your capacity);
    • You can prove that the business will benefit as a result of the investment (through market research or a business plan with financial projections).

    *Salary costs or living expenses for applicants cannot be funded.

    How do I access the grant?

    There is no application form, the process has been designed to be as simple and straightforward as possible. The first step is to call BRAG Enterprises and speak with either Callum Gow or Sarah Somerville on 01592 860 296 about your application. If they think your application meets the conditions you will then be invited to provide them with a letter detailing your claim along with three quotes to support the amount you are requesting; it’s that simple.

    Please see attached for a step by step guide to accessing the grant.

    How much can I apply for?

    The average grant award will be £2,700. Larger applications will be considerd if the benefit to the business can be demonstrated. If you would like to discuss an application for more than £2,700 then please contact Callum or Sarah on 01592 860 296 before submitting your application.

    I have more questions; can I come and meet with you?

    BRAG Enterprises will be holding two events to answer some of your questions and talk about potential applications on:-

    • Thursday 17 July from 10.00 - 11.00am at Fife Voluntary Action (Cupar Office), 69 Crossgate, Cupar, KY15 5AS;
    • Thursday 17 July from 2.00 - 3.00pm at Fife Voluntary Action (Glenrothes Office), Craig Mitchell House, Flemington Road, Glenrothes, KY7 5QF.

    To book your place please contact Callum or Sarah on 01592 860 296. Please make sure you let us know you plan on coming along so we can provide enough tea/coffee and biscuits for everyone.
