Volunteer Helper - Marie Curie Cancer Care
Created: 17/08/2015As a Helper Volunteer you will take on a number of simple, yet crucial tasks, usually at the home of the person you will help. A key part of your role will also involve signposting local support, care services and information to the terminally ill person and their carer.
You will provide one-to-one companionship and support, offer a listening ear and activities or hobbies with the person you are supporting. The activities you carry out will depend on the preferences and needs of the person, so you may spend time accompanying the person to appointments, social groups or trips out and about. This often allows carers the chance to have a break.
Marie Curie will provide you with extensive training for the roles. Use of a car is an advantage, travelling expenses are provided.
Time: Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm.
Place: Fife Wide, support may take place in the client's home or over the phone
Volunteer Reference No: VO55827
