News/Events Category: Funding and FinanceFoundation Scotland is currently accepting applications from local residents' associations, community centres and groups, social enterprises, community interest companies and credit unions from across Scotland that have an income of less than £250,000.
Projects should be run by people directly affected by the issues they are dealing with and priority will be given to small, locally based groups or organisations in areas of disadvantage that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community.
Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available to:
- Increase local services;
- Build skills of local people;
- Increase community cohesion;
- Respond to local economic needs.
The following are priorities for funding:
- Improve people's life skills, education, employability and enterprise;
- Maximise people's ability to strengthen community cohesion and build social capacity;
- Provide people with opportunities to access local services, achieve greater social justice and to reduce inequality, exclusion and disadvantage;
- Advance people's physical and mental health, wellbeing and safety.
Projects must start after Tuesday 06 December 2016.
Grants will only be awarded where the grant makes up at least 30% of the total costs of the project.
The deadline for applications is at 4.00pm on Monday 31 October 2016.
