Intandem – New Mentoring Scheme for Scotland's Young People
Created: 08/12/2016A new national mentoring programme, Intandem, will be delivered via the voluntary sector in a number of local authorities in Scotland, including in Fife.
The Scottish Government is funding Intandem to provide mentoring to children and young people aged 8-14 who have been through the Children's Hearings system and are subject to a Supervision Requirement with no condition of residence ie looked after at home.
The programme will bring together young people with a volunteer mentor to build a trusting and consistent relationship and improve their chances in life. Initially focusing on young people who are looked after by the local authority and who live at home, Intandem aims to support up to 300 young people nationally aged between 8 and 14 over the next two years.
Inspiring Scotland is the Scottish Government’s delivery partner and recently concluded an application process by inviting 13 charities to join the Intandem portfolio and deliver Intandem mentoring.
