Applications open for Kirkcaldy Community Resilience Fund

The Kirkcaldy Community Resilience Fund is a small grants fund for projects to alleviate the effects of welfare reform in disadvantaged communities in Kirkcaldy.
Local community organisations can apply for a grant of up to £2,500. The process is simple and quick.
How does this work?
Applying for funding is simple, and we'll get back to you quickly. Successful applicants will receive the funds up front, and the reporting requirements are straight-forward. To apply, download the application pack from our website. Return your completed application form to [email protected], by 5pm on Thursday 19th January 2017.
You'll hear back from us within two weeks of the deadline, telling you if your application was successful. All projects must be completed by 31st January 2018. Please note that a condition of the award will be the submission of a short end of project report.
Who can apply?
Local community groups and organisations based in, and working in, Kirkcaldy. Applicants will only be accepted from constituted, non-profit-distributing organisations. They're looking for applications from grassroots organisations which are community-led and work in low-income neighbourhoods. Priority will be given to organisations with an annual income of less than £50,000.
What can I apply for?
Your project must alleviate the effects of welfare reform in disadvantaged communities in Kirkcaldy. Projects must focus on one or more of these specific themes:
- Financial capability and money advice
- Education and access to IT
- Healthy eating on a budget
For example, you might want to apply to buy equipment for community job clubs, to give advice on household budgeting, or to offer training for community café volunteers. You can apply for a grant of up to £2,500. All projects must be completed by 31st January 2018.
Who's behind this?
The Kirkcaldy Community Resilience Fund programme is supported by the Scottish Government via Development Trust Association Scotland and Scottish Communities Alliance. Greener Kirkcaldy are administering the fund as part of a pilot programme to demonstrate a community-led response to austerity and welfare reform. Similar funds are being made available in selected communities across Scotland.
