FEAT Shortlisted for GlaxoSmithKline Impact Awards

News/Events Category: General NewsFife Employment Access Trust have reached the final shortlist of the prestigious GlaxoSmithKline Impact Awards.
The awards are designed to recognise and reward charities that are doing excellent work to improve people's health. They are funded by GlaxoSmithKline and managed in partnership with The King's Fund.
To reach the final shortlist of just 20 UK-based organisations, FEAT had to come through an application process, three rounds of shortlisting and a full-day assessment covering innovation, management, partnership, achievement, community focus and targeting need. They are proud to say that they are the first Fife charity to reach this stage of the awards in the full 20 years they've been running and are one of just two Scottish charities to make the final this year. Over 400 charities entered the awards this year.
In January, a panel of judges meet to select the top ten winners and ten runners-up. Each winner receives £30,000 in unrestricted funding, an intensive three-day training and development programme and the opportunity to join the GSK Impact Awards network. A film is made about their work and they are provided with support materials to help promote themselves. An overall winner receives an additional £10,000.
Duncan Mitchell, FEAT's General Manager, said: "Making the final shortlist is a real testament to the excellent and specialist work our staff do every day to help people with significant mental health conditions to better manage their conditions and reach their aspirations - whether that be employment or something else. It truly is an honour to be recognised in this way, and whether we end up as a winner or a runner-up, this is a huge boost to everyone connected with FEAT."
This recognition comes on the back of a year of success in 2016 for FEAT - being named Recruiter Magazine's Charity of the Year, TSB Glenrothes' Local Charity Partner and scooping the Fife Voluntary Sector Award for Partnership for the second time in three years. The charity are also celebrating recent funding awards from the Volant Trust, Barcapel Foundation, One Stop Stores and Santander towards service provision for next year.
