    The aim of this course is to support participants gain an increased understanding around the complexities of disclosure and in particular how those affected may react or respond. This generic training is aimed at support workers and other professionals who may facilitate disclosure and/or reporting and recording of sexual trauma.

    Learning Outcomes

    By the end of the training participants will:

    • have an increased understanding of the complexities surrounding those who have experienced sexual trauma;
    • be able to recognise the difficulties for those disclosing or reporting sexual trauma and how that will be presented;
    • have an increased understanding of the importance of the listener/helper role when working with sexual trauma;
    • have increased skills and understanding in responding to individual disclosure;
    • have an increased knowledge and understanding of good practice.

    Facilitators on the day: Lynn Simpson and Lorraine Cafferkey, Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project. Please note: Lunch is not being provided, however there are is a café where you can purchase hot and cold food.
