Great Place Scheme - Heritage at the Heart of Communities
Created: 14/04/2017The Great Place Scheme has just launched in Scotland.
This innovative scheme is designed to enable cultural and community groups to work more closely together and to place heritage at the heart of communities.
With grants of £100,000 to £1 million to support applicants in piloting new, more effective ways of collaborating, the Great Place Scheme includes everything from city-wide initiatives to smaller, rural schemes.
Aims
The Great Place Scheme will enable heritage organisations to make a step-change in how they work together, and with other organisations in other sectors, in order that heritage contribute more to meeting local social, environmental and economic objectives.
What will the Great Place Scheme do?
The Great Place Scheme will invest in 5 to 10 places across Scotland to achieve the following:
The Scheme will enable places throughout Scotland to put heritage at the heart of the future vision for their area. The successful places will be able to access investment, advice and guidance from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
