  • The Richmond Fellowship - Senior Support Worker

    Created: 17/04/2017
    News/Events Category: Job Vacancies

    Job Title: Senior Support Worker

    Location: Kirkcaldy and central Fife

    Salary: £20,738 - £22,140

    Hours: 37.5 hours per week

    Reference No: 80

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is a leading voluntary organisation, supporting people with a broad range of needs to live in their own homes, as part of their community. They are an organisation driven by strong values and a firm commitment to choice, dignity and social inclusion.

They are currently looking to increase their Management team resource in the Kirkcaldy and Central Fife Area and are looking for someone who can help their supported individuals to achieve their own positive outcomes. They are therefore looking to recruit a new Senior Support Worker to join the team.

If you have experience of working in a fast paced environment, working to deadlines, chairing meetings, experience of liaising with families, social work and health professionals along with the ability to think on your feet, this could be the opportunity for you. You will join an already established team of Senior Support Workers and will receive training along the way. Due to the dispersed nature of services it would be desirable that you have a driving licence.

The individuals also require support at night therefore the services have rotas in place that include sleepovers. As part of the management team you will be required to undertake on call on a rotational basis and you may be required to work the full range of shift patterns and undertake sleepovers depending on the needs of the service.

Previous experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities is essential for this role while experience of working with a wider client group and individuals that have been involved in the criminal justice system would be advantageous. It would be beneficial if you have achieved or are working towards your SVQ 3 in Health & Social Care. The successful applicant must also register with SSSC as a Supervisor in Care at Home and Housing Support Services on taking up the post.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a change in your life and in that of the people they support.

The work can be challenging, but as well as a competitive salary, enhanced pension contributions and annual leave, childcare vouchers and discounts at over 850 online and high street retailers, The Richmond Fellowship can offer you a rewarding and satisfying role in your local community.

To apply please click here and enter reference number 80.

The closing date for applications is Friday 28 April 2017.

PVG checks will be required of all successful applicants; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector.
