Scotland's Winter Festivals Event Fund
Created: 17/04/2017Scotland's Winter Festivals is a unique and distinctive programme of events designed to celebrate Scotland's three national days - St Andrew's Day, Hogmanay and Burns Night.
From toasting our patron saint on St Andrew’s Day, 30 November, to Burns Night on January 25, and with Hogmanay in between, Scotland’s Winter Festivals is designed to celebrate the spirit and fun of Scotland’s winter season, all warmed up, with a range of exciting events and activity throughout the country.
The programme brings people together from all over the world to celebrate Scotland’s heritage and modern culture and traditions through the best of Scottish music, arts, food and drink and entertainment.
EventScotland, part of VisitScotland, manages the Scotland’s Winter Festivals event fund.
The 2016/2017 Winter Festivals programme supported a dynamic range of 24 events across 15 Local Authority areas, with over 300,000 attendances across all funded events. A number of brand new events were added to the programme last year, including Glasgow’s St Andrew’s Day Torchlight Festival, Red Red Rose Street and Illumination: Harbour Festival of Light.
The fund is now open and receiving applications for winter 2017/2018. The fund will close at 5pm on 12 May 2017.
Event organisers will be notified of the outcomes of funding applications by 12 July 2017.
