Cognitive Remediation Therapy(CRT) in Mental Health
Created: 09/05/2017Cognitive Remediation Therapy is a behavioural training based intervention that aims to improve cognitive processes with the overall aim to improve functioning in everyday activities. It is a B Grade Recommended Therapy In the SIGN (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network) Guidelines for Schizophrenia, and there is a growing body of evidence for it's effectiveness in other disorders too.
It is particularly effective when embedded within a wider psychosocial programme. This two day training (21 and 22 September) will include; the evidence base and rationale for CRT practical CRT sessions (using computerised programmes, paper and group), setting CogSmart Goals; how to facilitate CRT sessions; Bridging and Transferring CRT strategies to improve functioning; and how to set up a CRT Service.
Spaces are limited, please e-mail to request a booking form.
Cost for this training is £300 per person and free to NHS Fife Staff.
