Created: 16/05/2017Role: Creative Practitioner (Digital Storytelling)
Salary: Sessional Fixed fee of £9,000 (for 2.5 days per week or equivalent)
Scottish Book Trust is a national charity changing lives through reading and writing. They champion the benefits of reading and writing for pleasure and work for a Scotland where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive through literacy.
This Digital Storytelling project is based on the methodology developed by the Story Centre, an American organisation that supports individuals and organisations to use storytelling and participatory media for reflection, education, and social change.
The Digital Storyteller will work with a Scottish library in Fife to stimulate and deliver an innovative project by working with the local community to encourage and teach participants to create their own digital stories. Participants will have the option to share their stories on You Tube and/or within the library archives.
The Creative Practitioner will also be required to deliver a two-day “train the trainer” workshop so that others within the service are able to facilitate a similar programme in the future, ensuring an ongoing legacy of digital storytelling within the locality.
