Thistle Foundation have a vacancy for a personal assistant to join a small dedicated team who support a lovely young man who lives in his family home in Kirkcaldy. This young man has a full and interesting week doing things that he enjoys which include swimming, music and drama. He loves music and will always be happy to astound people with his knowledge and talent for naming songs and artists.
He loves being out and about and to take beach walks after his classes and daily activities. It is important to this young man and his family that he has a full structured week and the person who supports him is able to offer support at a pace that suits him, this will keep him safe and allow him to grow and develop new skills and be included in his community. Do you share these interests? Would you be happy walking the beach front in rain, hail and sunshine? If so, they would love to hear from you! As you could be the person they are looking for.
A driving licence is required for this role as this young man has his own car. This role needs someone who can be flexible and sometimes work with short notice - there will be hours available weekly and the opportunity to work more hours when required.
Pool workers support a core team and are fully included in all team meetings, team training sessions and have a full induction training programme with Thistle. Applicants must be available to travel to Thistle, Edinburgh for most of this training (travel expenses will be reimbursed). Staff require to have good communication and social skills to work effectively with families and other members of a small team.
