FEAT are seeking a Mindfulness Trainer for their Our Minds Matter Programme. The successful candidate may have an education, employability, health or related background. You will facilitate mindfulness sessions within certain primary and secondary schools in Fife, including: (1) groups with children and young people, some of whom who will present with a high level of need in terms of their stress/anxiety or emotional distress in order to reduce their potential vulnerability; (2) groups with teachers and other key stakeholders and (3) groups with parents and carers of the children/young people.
As the mindfulness trainer you will write, organise and facilitate mindfulness group sessions with these three groups, empowering the trainees to self-manage their health and well-being through the learning of sustainable self-care strategies. You will liaise with education staff and deliver the training in the school buildings, during or after school. Through this work, you will encourage a sustainable, preventative approach to promote the well-being of all young people, helping them to discuss mental health with their peers and create and sustain positive, effective relationships with others. Working with parents and carers, you will help develop the awareness, confidence and capacity of adults around the child or young person in supporting their emotional wellbeing.
The successful candidate will be based in their FEAT offices in Glenrothes, though will be expected to carry out a large proportion of work from school locations within Fife. The role involves small and larger group work. Candidates will be required to undergo a PVG check.
