This post is funded initially for two years, although they intend to seek additional funding.
FWA is looking to recruit a full time Court Advocacy and Support worker. This is an exciting post and the successful applicant will provide advocacy and support services for women who have are involved in court actions as a result of incidences of domestic abuse. The post holder will work directly with women to offer information, support and advocacy services and will also provide liaison between service users and other multi-agency partners from both statutory and voluntary services.
Applicants should have a good understanding of the impact and prevalence of domestic abuse on women, children and young people. A proven track record in providing advocacy and support services to vulnerable client groups. Experience in working effectively with a range of multi-agency partners and promoting joint working practices and have procedural knowledge and practical experience of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse.
This post is open to women only (Equality Act 2010 Work Occupational Requirement Exception, Schedule 9 Paragraph 1).
