Scottish Mental Health First Aid - Young People
Created: 11/08/2017The training course, ‘Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid: Young People’ is aimed at adults working or living with young people aged between 11 and 18 years old who may be at risk of developing mental health problems. The course is for teachers, youth workers, sports coaches, support workers, parents and others assisting young people in a variety of settings.
The aim of the course is to better understand mental health, how it affects young people, and to learn mental health first aid skills.
Mental health first aid can be applied, in a crisis and non-crisis situation, to a range of common and less common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety, eating disorders, suicide, self-harm or substance use.
