    This accredited course is for anyone from any occupation, who has a role or interest in improving health or tackling health inequalities. The course will enable you to increase your confidence in improving health and tackling health inequalities and will help you to explore the scope of your health improvement role in day to day practice. Developed specifically for Scotland, the purpose is to provide a single short course that will set a standard for a common set of values and principles for you and others who have a role in health improvement as part of your daily practice. Topics covered include health improvement, influences on health, health inequalities, working with individuals, working with communities and effective practice.

    This is a blended learning course combining 3.5 days of face to face workshops with a minimum of 15 hours of online learning. Participants are also expected to carry out written reflective tasks and a group task between course dates.

    Those who successfully complete an optional 3000 word assessment will achieve formal accreditation and quality for 15 SCQF points at Level 9 (third year degree level).

    The face to face workshops will run on January 11 (half day induction), January 25, March 01 and March 22 2018.  All expect for the induction on January 11 are full days and all will take place at Fife Voluntary Action, Glenrothes.

    The course has been developed by NHS Health Scotland and all who complete the blended course will receive an NHS Health Scotland course certificate, regardless of whether or not they have completed the final assignment.
